Brianne West, the CEO and Founder, established Ethique in her kitchen in 2012 when she began experimenting with solid shampoo bars. Today, Ethique boasts a range of over 100 products. Ethique's product range includes conscious and concentrated haircare, skincare, and body care products designed to make giving up the bottle easier. All Ethique products are 100% plastic-free, certified vegan, cruelty-free, and palm-oil free. The packaging is also 100% plastic-free.

As of 2021, Ethique has saved over 20 million single-use plastic bottles from being made or disposed of in landfills around the world, over 3 million gallons of water from being wasted, and has planted over 350,000 trees. This is just the beginning of Ethique's journey towards a more sustainable future.

Ethique's Compact by Design initiative focuses on sustainability by identifying products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. By removing excess air and water, the products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship, leading to significant carbon emission reductions.

One of Ethique's products, the Calming Shampoo Bar, is a soap-free bar that gently cleanses away scalp woes with a rich lather. The blend of oils and soothing oatmeal helps calm and nourish the scalp, providing softness and shine to the hair. Each shampoo bar lasts at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo, and comes in recyclable, home-compostable packaging.

Ethique's products are formulated using vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and renewable ingredients, sourced from sustainable producers paid a fair wage.
